The happy greyness

We meet on a beautiful blue November day on the witch’s mountain. A black cat is sitting in front of the entrance. It was a test of courage for the children to go to the ‘spooky yard’ on the evening of Halloween. The deserted farm had become a spooky place in its many years of being vacant, but that is in the past and there is nothing scary there anymore. Creative types live and work here now.

Alex ‘is’ Mädchenschatz. She explains what she does herself best: “I am a seeker of things …I find old materials, furniture, things that would tell stories if they could …and hope to somehow bring them back to life.”

The community brought this 200-year old house back to life and it is written directly into ‘the happy greyness’:`Tu deviens responsable pour toujours de ce que tu as apprivoisé´ (you are responsible for what you have familiarized yourself with). Love for old things is everywhere and everything is mixed with a little Pippi Longstocking. You know: “I create my world diddle diddle as I like it…” Finally, we sit at the kitchen table with coffee, pastries and prosecco. The table and chandeliers come from an old castle. A house-warming gift from friends; and written on the table is : “Take time to enjoy the simple things in your life.” Exactly!

Wie ich auf diesen Namen gekommen bin? Es war Sonntagfrüh 6.30Uhr (*seufz*) da kam mein Kleiner (4Jahre) ins Bett gekrabbelt mit einer kleinen Schatzkiste und meinte zu mir: "So Mama, du bist ein Mädchen und du darfst nicht den Jungenschatz sehen!"----Ich bin dann..... ein wenig beleidigt getan (ich weiß ja was sich gehört...;)).....aufgesprungen...habe gejubelt...Farbe und Pinsel geschnappt und mein erstes "maedchenschatz." auf eine kleine Kommode gepinselt... *grins*...und dann hatten alle meine Schätze einen Namen, *pah* "maedchenschätze" eben!
